Introduction: The principles of Atmospheric Plasma Spraying (APS): An arc is generated between the cathode and the anode (the nozzle) and heats up the inducted working gases into plasma, which exits the nozzle and forms a plasma flame. During plasma spraying, feedstock powders are introduced into the plasma flame to be melted, accelerated and ejected onto the surface of the pre-processed target substrate and form the coating. Plasma is one of the four fundamental states of matter after solid, liquid and gas, and is the foundation of the APS technique.
• Higher bonding strength • Larger thickness of coating than chemical plating • Higher coating deposition efficiency • Cathode and anode have longer life than common plasma nozzle • Exceptional resistance to wear • Extraordinary resistance to corrosion • Better surface finish
